There are three states of flow
ACTIVE PASSIVE and NEUTRAL
ACTIVE = output of energy, writing talking, making
PASSIVE = input of energy, reading and listening
NEUTRAL = no output or input of energy, this is where energy is intergrated into your being, this is where your best ideas come through, where who you are changes and your life changes
Balance your time in each of these states and you will never exit the flow state
This law of 3 comes from the enneagram, Also Known as the face of GOD
Most world religions do not see the earth and its inhabitants as dualistic (composing of two opposite parts) but rather trinitarian (composing of three parts).
Think the father, the son and the holy spirit in Christianity
or Brahma, the creator, Vishnu, the preserver and Shiva, the destroyer in Hinduism
In the enneagram we look at the three forces that work to create or transform energy
the active force - which initiates transformation
the passive force - which is to be transformed
and the neutral force - the environment that allows these two forces to meet
for example - in conception
The sperm is the active force, moving towards the egg
The egg is the passive force, which transforms into a baby when it makes contact with the sperm
The womb is the neutral force which allows the space for this transformation to take place and stays unchanged
This law has become such a pivotal area of research for me in my work because, unlike many spiritual practitioners, I am results focused. I believe spiritual work can change lives for the better as we learn how to meet new, scary and unknown parts of ourself with the guidance of another human. This sense of direction, leadership and accountability from spiritual or mental health practitioners is something that I have searched for, without success. Not everybody needs to be results focused. I am. I am here to help you receive and create transformation in yourself greater than you could imagine and I find joy and peace in taking on this goal for myself. The enneagram is an objective tool that brings gets results every single time, if is laws are followed.
I've experienced living according to the enneagrams law of three (there are many more teachings in this symbol) as an energy magnifier. When I structure my day with consideration for each force I have more energy and the tasks are more successful. When I segregate my goals into the three forces I will need to achieve them, my mind is clearer the path is more straight forward and it appears my actions have greater effects.
Applying this to a goal would look like this:
My goal is to create a beautiful website for my business
the active aspect would be me, taking the action to create the website
the passive aspect would be this website, which will be transformed through the process
and the neutral force would be my laptop which allows me and the website to interact
If all three of these states are balanced the energy needed to carry out this task will be continuous, even though there will be specific moments, which can be predicted with the enneagram, where it will be hard. Magic doesn't mean it isn't hard, it means working harder than anyone would think is reasonable and getting consistent results.
